Oliver Queen returns home after having being lost at sea for five years and presumed dead. Oliver survived on an uncharted island, but he wasn’t alone, and to survive he had to learn how to fight. Back in Starling City as a changed man, he has decided to right his fathers and all others corrupted fallout. He disguises himself with the hood of one of his first mysterious island mentors. Arms himself with a bow and high-tech gadgets. With this he sets about hunting down the men and women who have corrupted his city.
Arrow is a really good TV show. He feels like a mix between Superman and Batman.
Oliver Queen is part of both these series. He is introduced later in the Smallville seasons.
People all over the world are discovering that they have superpowers and they are trying to deal with how this is change is affecting their lives. Some of the people with superpowers are; Peter Petrelli, a 30-something nurse who suspects he can fly. Claire Bennet, a 17 year-old cheerleader who is next to immortal. Hiro Nakamura, a 20-something Japanese comic book fan who kind of control time. Niki Sanders, a 30-something Las Vegas showgirl with an evil twin. Matt Parkman, a cop who can read minds. Isaac Mendez, a 20-something junkie who has the ability to paint images of the future when he is high. This is a show of heroes and villains, some with and some without superpowers.
The first season is absolutely fantastic, but then it sadly starts to slowly get worse and worse until the last season that is barely worth watching. However, the first season is so good that you still will have a really good time watching it.
They both have people with special powers.
The small town of Riverdale people are starting their new semester after an event full summer break. Archie have had a secret complicated summer tryst, Betty is thinking about confessing her crush, Veronica just rolled into town to escape a family scandal back in NYC, and Josie and the Pussycats are working on building their brand. And Jughead, the high school historian, is writing about all of it. And of course, the thing that everyone is talking about. The shocking murder of one of the rich and popular Blossom twins.
It’s a mashup of a Twin Peaks story-line starring Archie comics characters. I got bored, but I think many people will like it.
Riverdale has more “ordinary” people, no superpowers so far. But its a small town school setting.
Blinded as a young boy, Matt Murdock fights injustice by day as a lawyer and by night as the Super Hero Daredevil in Hell’s Kitchen, New York City. As a child Matt was blinded by a chemical spill, but instead of limiting him it supercharged his other senses and enabled him to see the world in a unique and powerful way. Now he uses these powers to deliver justice.
Much better than the movie. Netflix and Marvel is a match made in heaven.
Daredevil is darker and more grownup. More focused on the bigger story, not so episodic.
Jessica Jones works as a hot-tempered private detective in Hell’s Kitchen. She uses her extraordinary abilities, super strength, to champion for those in need… especially if they’re willing to cut her a check.
Marvel’s Jessica Jones is very good superhero TV show. It has crossovers with other Netflix Marvel superhero TV shows, like Luke Cage and Daredevil.
Jessica Jones is darker and more grownup. It’s also set in a big city and not so episodic as Smallville.
“In every generation there is a chosen one… she alone will stand against the vampires, the demons and the forces of darkness. She is the slayer”. Buffy, a sexy kick-ass high school girl, is her generations chosen one. Destined to slay vampires, demons and other infernal creatures, while still trying, and failing, to be just a “normal girl”. Luckily for her, she is not alone in her quest to save the world. She has help of her group of friends, the hilarious evil-fighting team called “The Scooby Gang”.
I remember watching this when I was young. I watched it on TV, so I missed some episodes, but it still was really good. I plan to get it some time in the future and re-watch the whole series. I remember having a teen crush on her so maybe my opinions are flavoured by that.
Buffy vampires and supernatural stuff, not superheroes. But the setting is very familiar. Small town school setting and episodic structure.
Barry Allen is a CSI scientist in Central city. Despite a childhood trauma where some yellow and read lighting kills his mother and his father is framed for her murder he is still living a happy life. His life takes an unexpected turn when one day an experiment he performs in his lab cos wrong at the same time that the particle accelerator at S.T.A.R. labs explodes and he is struck b y lightning. Labs after the disaster to experiment with his power, and together they also catch other humans that has gained power after the explosion (meta humans) but uses it for evil.
The Flash is a good superhero show, and it has some cool crossovers with Arrow, even if it is not as dark and gritty as the Arrow. It`s not the best show out there, but it is still wort a try. If you however get hanged up on inconsistencies then you might get irritated with it. He’s speed is not consistent, in some episodes he can dodge bullets, but in others he might have problems dodging much slower punches.
Same universe, same feel.
Daily Planet reporters Clark Kent and Lois Lane clash, cooperate and flirt while chasing the hottest stories in Metropolis. Lois dos not know that her partner Clark Kent is her secret heart-throb, Superman.
I remember liking this show. But it’s so long ago that it might be utter trash if I tried to watch it again.
Meet the Powells, they are an every day, typical family who experience a remarkable transformation. They receive superpowers. Super strength, super speed, mind reading, and super intelligence. They attempt to live ordinary lives, but thy discover that there is a conspiracy at work, and that they’re not the only ones with special abilities.
Why oh why did this show only get one season, I wanted more. It was so good.
Kyle is a teenage boy with extraordinary abilities but he lacks understanding of most common stuff. He appears out of nowhere, a kind-hearted social worker and her family offer him a home. Kyle`s abilities seem to grow stronger each day. Where did he come from, and who, or what, is Kyle?
Kyle XY is a good teen age drama series. I remember that I liked it very much when I watched it.
When Ryan Atwood plunges into wealthy, privileged Newport Beach, a group of friends and families are forever changed by the arrival of an outsider to their community.
I remember liking it. But its a while ago. My taste might have changed. Not to big of a fan of that kind of shows at the moment.
In Roswell we follow teenage alien living in Roswell. They attempted to blend in and live as humans while hiding their alien sides.
I remember I really liked this show. A mix of teen age problems and sci-fi.
Small town high school. They are Aliens, just like Superman.
Steve Rogers is desperate to join the army and fight for the Allied forced in WWII, but sadly for him he is unfit for duty. He volunteers for a top-secret super soldier research project. This project is a success, but it gets destroyed by the enemy and Rogers are the only test subject. Rogers becomes Captain America. He soon finds him self fighting HYDRA, the Nazi Germany`s secret research organization. They have a sinister plan that if seceded will make them rulers of the world.
Captain America is a cool superhero, a little less powerful than some, but among the cooler ones. This is a really cool superhero movie about the earlier days of superheroes.
To become a super hero you have to take the Hero Certification Program in college, and only a handful of those starting it will be able to get to the final year. Among this years freshmen at Lander University, one of the top universities with a Hero Certification Program, there are five fresh students that are not as the rest of the aspiring heroes. They are former powereds, people with abilities like the supers but without the ability to control them. Powereds have always been treated like second class citizens and a burden. However these five are the first prototypes for a new highly classified experiment that have managed to turn powereds to a super. They have been those into the Hero Certification Program at Lander University as a trail by fire to see if they can compete against supers.
Super Powereds is one of the better series I have read in a while. Great long books. They are akin to the magical school type of books, but with college age students instead of the commonly younger age group. There are five main characters, and the author has actually managed to distribute the focus fairly among them.
Izuku Midoriya is powerless, he has no superpowers in a world where over 80% of the population has some kind of superpower. He is a fan of heroes and studies and takes notes on them. He has wished to become one himself since he was a small child, something that looks impossible to become when you have no power. One day he meats his personal idol, and the strongest hero of them all, All Might. Another special thing about All Might that almost no other person knows is that his power can be inherited, and after observing Izuku he has chosen to give his power to him. This gives Izuku the chance, with some hard training, to join the Hero Academy and become a hero like his childhood dream.
Boku no Hero Academia is a good anime that has taken inspiration from american comics and created a good superhero anime. It`s not an excellent anime, but it is still good. If you like animes and you also like superhero stuff, then you should give it a try.
