If you like “Dexter”, then you might enjoy…

Dexter is an splendid form of entertainment. And if you love it as much as I do, then you will love some of the following TV-shows, Books and Animes.

Dexter Morgan, by day a blood spatter pattern expert for the Miami Metro police department, but by night he becomes a brutal serial killer. Dexter, Like most serial killers, only kills people who fit a very specific profile. He follows a “moral code” taught to him by his late father Harry, he only kills violent criminals that slips between lady justice`s fingers. Dexter is grappling with fitting into society while, at the same time, he struggles with his inability to feel emotion.

This show follows a team from the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU), a subsection of FBI. They travel to local police stations to investigate serial killings or other crimes likely involving a mentally distorted unsub (Unknown or unidentified subject). They use profiling to track and apprehend the unsubs. This means they are using psychology and statistics to come up with basic characteristics of the unsub and the victims.

This is one of the more interesting criminal shows. I watched to season seven, I think, but then I fell off. But this show is definitely worth giving a try.

Serial killers and bad people. Just like Dexter, only worse.

Will Graham is a FBI criminal profiler with a unique way of locking at things. He can empathize with anyone which makes it easy for him to get in to the mind of killers. This skill sets is hard on Will and he is teamed up with the psychiatrist Dr. Hannibal Lecter. Together they help FBI to catch criminals and work on Will`s mental issues. This show follows the early days of Dr. Hannibal Lecter, before he get known as the cannibalistic serial killer.

This is an interesting show. It`s worth watching, especially if you like crime shows or are a fan of the movies.

One of the main characters is a serial killer, a cool serial killer at that.

Six Feet Under follows the Fisher family, a dysfunctional family from L.A., and their family owned funeral home. This show has serious drama and dark humour melted into one substance of pure awesomeness.

Six Feet Under is a superb TV-Show. It has serious drama, but it is also halleriouse at times. This is one of those TV-Shows that should be a must watch.

Oliver Queen returns home after having being lost at sea for five years and presumed dead. Oliver survived on an uncharted island, but he wasn’t alone, and to survive he had to learn how to fight. Back in Starling City as a changed man, he has decided to right his fathers and all others corrupted fallout. He disguises himself with the hood of one of his first mysterious island mentors. Arms himself with a bow and high-tech gadgets. With this he sets about hunting down the men and women who have corrupted his city.

Arrow is a really good TV show. He feels like a mix between Superman and Batman.

Not exactly sure why I feel they belong together. I think it is because they both quite ok with killing some bad guys. But Dexter is way worse than the Arrow.

Walter White starts out as a high school chemistry teacher, but to keep up with the cost of his cancer treatments he is forced to turn to some bad income streams. He turns his chemistry expertise into making some of the purest meth around. Breaking Bad follows Mr. White from hist stumbling beginnings and all the way to him becoming a meth kingpin and on.

Breaking Bad is one of the better TV shows ever made. It ranks up there among the best there is. You should absolute give this show a try.

He might not start out as a bad person like Dexter did, but he ends up doing awful things.

Nancy Botwin is a recently widowed suburban housewife. When her financed eventually gets in trouble she ends up being their neighbourhood pot dealer to be able to keep living as she did before her husband`s early demise. It turns out that the people in her neighbourhood is more addicted to pot than she thought and her new business might be able to keep her more than wealthy enough to keep going as she did before. Nancy is faced with juggling her family life, her new enterprise and keeping it secret from the wrong people, like her neighbour and PTA president, Celia Hodes.

Weeds is a funny comedy that is also full of more serious drama. It is entertaining mix of family life drama and drug related suspense all mixed with a good dose of humour.

Noble families fight for control of the mythical land of Westeros. Political and sexual intrigue is pervasive. They are locked in a battle for the Iron Throne. This is a grand story of duplicity and treachery, nobility and honor, conquest and triumph. When you play the Game of Thrones, you either win or you die. While the noble families play their deadly game a very ancient evil awakens in the farthest north. Only a neglected military order of sinners and outcasts, the Night’s Watch, is all that stands between the realms of men and this ancient evil.

It`s almost perfect. My precious…

Some of the characters in Game of Thrones are anti-heroes that we still like, just like Dexter.

Ruthless and cunning, Congressman Francis Underwood and his wife Claire stop at nothing to conquer everything. This wickedly dark political drama penetrates the shadowy world of greed, sex, corruption and betrayal in modern D.C. politics.

I haven`t seen the original version, but I absolutely love this new version from Netflix. House of Cards is the best political drama show I have ever watched.

An FBI most wanted fugitive, Raymond Reddington, joins FBI to help bring down criminals and terrorists. He agrees to help catching these bad guys only if he gets Elizabeth Keen, a rookie FBI profiler, as his handler. After their first victory, a list of dangerous but unknown criminals is revealed by Red. And with a special teem they start to catch them one by one.

I like it, a cool show. Not only is the show about catching criminal, a second thrilling plot line surrounding Elizabeth Keen is also in play over the whole show. It`s cool to watch world-wide criminals taken down. I wonder if there exist people similar to Raymond Reddington, that would be scary.

Gregory House, anti-social, pain killer addict, witty and arrogant is of all things a medical doctor, and an excellent one at that. He specializes in diagnostic medicine and has his own unit at Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital. House and his team does whatever it takes to solve puzzling cases that come their way. His skills are well-known and other doctors around the states sends him patients they have no idea of what ails them.

I have only watched the first part, I kind of fell of the wagon when his team changed. But what I saw was absolutely fantastic. This show is full of witty comments.

House isn`t exactly bad like Dexter, but he still has his problems, and he can be kind of ruthless in his quest for solutions.

When he was nine, he watched as his mother and brother were killed before him. At thirteen, he led a band of bloodthirsty thugs. By fifteen, he intends to be king

Prince of Thorns is a great book, and Prince Honorous Jorg Ancrath is a great anti-hero. This is a must read, as long as you are OK with anti heroes as protagonists.

It might be a fantasy book, but the man character is a real anti-hero.

Locke Lamora, born in the island city of Camorr with a quick wit and a gift for thieving, has dodged both death and slavery, only to fall into the hands of an eyeless priest known as Chains. A man who is neither blind nor a priest, but a con artist of extraordinary talent. Chains passes his skills on to his carefully selected gang of orphans, a group known as the Gentlemen Bastards. Under Chains guiding hand, Locke grows to lead the Gentlemen Bastards, delightedly pulling off one outrageous confidence game after another. A shadowy and ambitious figure, known as the Gray King is using Locke Lamora as a pawn in his play to take control of Camorr’s underworld. With a bloody coup under way threatening to destroy everyone and everything that he cares for, Locke vows to beat the Gray King at his own game, or die trying.

I have only read the first book in this series, but I plan to read the rest later.

The main character in both of them are anti-heroes. They are not good people, but we still like them.

Bayaz, an old man with a terrible temper, he could be the First of the Magi, he could be a spectacular fraud, but whatever he is, he’s about to make the lives of Logen, Jezal, and Glotka a whole lot more difficult.

The Blade Itself is the first book in the The Blade Itself. This book, especially Glokta with his biting and interesting internal monologues, is among the better fantasy books. You will have a blast reading this.

Yagami Light is a 17-year-old genius from Japan. One day he stumbles upon a notebook with the words “Death Note” written on the front. unbeknownst to Light, this book used to belong to Shinigami (death Good) called Ryuk. Discovering that this is actually true, Light decide to use this power to change the world in his image and become God of the New World. Light soon meats resistance from another genius known as L. He is working against Light’s beliefs and Light himself.

This is a really good anime. This might be a good starting point if you never have watched animes before. If you have experience with animes then you probably already have watched this show.

Dexter and Light both murder bad people.

Alucard and Seras Victoria works for the Hellsing Organization, a vampire extermination group in England. Alucard is the organizations deadliest weapon, and Victoria is constantly working her way up to his level. What makes these two vampire hunters so effective is that they themselves are vampires.

This is one of the first animes I watched, but I did not like it that much. It was OK, but not that good. The guy that recommended it to me loved it, but I did not.

The main character in both shows is brutal anti-heroes, but we still love them.

Do you agree? Anything else you think should be on this list?
